Eid clothes for 4000 orphans in Gaza Strip
Islamic Relief has provided 4000 orphan children in Gaza Strip with Eid clothes this year in a way to let them feel the delightful Eid and alleviate the burdens from their needy families.
Targeted orphans were given coupons to buy their own clothes and shoes by themselves according to their ages. All targeted orphans are sponsored children through Islamic Relief.
The project is part of Child Welfare Programme activities that are designed to serve the children especially orphans such as summer camps, psychosocial support, health check-ups in addition to the financial sponsorship paid regularly during the year.
The distribution, which was conducted from 18 to 26 October 2011, was in various parts of Gaza Strip as follows: 1783 orphans in Gaza, 1065 orphans in North Area and 1077 orphans in Khan Younis. They were directed to clothes stores close to their residence.
One of the orphans mother said: “This way of distribution is so good so my child can buy the clothes he likes and the shoes he chose by himself. Thank you Islamic Relief and all those who donated for making my child happy in this Eid.”
