Adequate Classrooms in Disadvantaged West Bank Communities
Benefiting around 2000 students, the Adequate Classrooms project has aimed to provide students with adequate classroom space and adequate facilities and to contribute to the creation of a safe and healthy leaning environment in 9 schools located in remote and vulnerable West Bank communities.
In addition to such school facilities as computer labs and science labs, the project adds a total of 28 classrooms in 9 schools in the districts of Hebron, Jenin, Tulkarm and Salfit.
Ahmad, a 4th grader from the Burqin Basic Boys’ School, says that his new classroom is a huge improvement over the old one in which he and his classmates were housed. “The classroom’s large windows mean more air, light and sunshine and the room is much bigger and less crowded,” he says.
This project is supported by Islamic Relief USA.
