Arab & Muslim donors promise to support patients in Gaza
A group of Arab and Muslim donors announced in Gaza the forming of executive committees to urgently respond to the needs of medicine, medical supplies and health sector requirements helping in improving the health service for the Palestinian people.
The announcement took place in a press conference conducted in Al-Shifa Hospital organized by Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW), Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Arab Medical Union (AMU).
In the press conference, Dr. Ibrahim Zafarany, head of Emergency and Relief Committee at the AMU, said, “There are huge and shortages in critical medical items such as normal saline, renal failure medicine and drugs to stop bleeding. There are some disposables are sterilized and used many times and this should never been happened in medicine.”
Dr. Zafarany appealed all humanitarian agencies to hurry up to support the Palestinian people through especially patients.
The press conference came after a month of the summit that was conducted in Cairo in support of health sector in Gaza fundraising for millions of dollars for this purpose.
