New Health Care Units

Khan Younis – Primary Health Care Units in Al-Amal Hospital were inaugurated on 12 May 2011 in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Alsousi, IRPAL Country Director, Ulrika Källström, Secretary General of Swedish Red Cross, Dr. Yunis El-Khatib, Director of Paslestinian Red Crescent Association and Dr. Wael Mikki, Al-Amal Hospital Director.


Islamic Relief improved the hospital to develop themedical service provided in southern area, especially in Khan Younis. The inauguration came after achieving the rehabilitation project for Primary Health Care Units in Al-Amal Hospital which included different types of intervention such as supplying equipments and machines and upgrading and supplying furniture.


The attendance expressed their satisfaction and appreciated the vital project which improved the Primary Health Care Units. "The project included many developing items such as establishing two equipped dental clinics, new equipped labs and providing 12 new beds." said Rami Mahani, IRPAL emergency manager. "The project also included renovation and repair works for the lab, dental clinics, maternity department, and operations department in addition to supplying all departments with needed furniture.


The project, which valued 232 thousand USD, is one of many Islamic Relief health projects that support Gaza Strip hospitals through developing emergencies, ICUs and health clinics.
