Health & Nutrition

Helping to build and strengthen the Palestinian health sector is considered a priority by IRPAL.

Besides being a desirable objective in itself, good health has long been recognized as essential for sustainable development. In the Palestinian territories, shortages in medical equipment and movement restrictions are some of the factors that limit easy and timely access to good quality health care services.

IRPAL  has worked to address these obstacles and support the struggling Palestinian health sector through the renovation of emergency departments and intensive care units in hospitals and the rehabilitation of primary health care clinics.

IRPAL interventions have also included the building of a new blood bank in AL Naser Pediatric Hospital, equipping the new intensive care unit at AL Shifa Hospital,  implementing capacity building programmes, providing artificial limbs and hearing aids to those who need them in Gaza Strip. In the West Bank, IRPAL has recently established a new kidney dialysis center at the Yatta Hospital.
