Sustainable Livelihoods

IRPAL works to empower people so that they can become self-sufficient and less reliant on humanitarian aid.

In the West Bank, IRPAL has extended small loans to rural women and gave grants to poor families living in peripheral and disadvantaged areas in order to help them establish their own enterprises. It has also rehabilitated agricultural lands to help small farmers earn secure incomes.

In Gaza Strip, IRPAL  has supported the creation of micro-credit projects through two main financing techniques: Murabaha and Qard Hasan. IRPAL has also provided temporary employment for hundreds of graduates and workers through its cash for work and family sponsorship programs. IRPAL helped farmers who lost their livestock and supported fishermen by building and equipping new shelters for them.
